II. Sorceress/High Priestess
Early Christians took images and mythology of ancient Goddesses and turned this into saints or less
virtuous archetypes. Here the image of a saint is transformed back to her
original form with the crescent moon for a halo. The gypsy setting allows her to
perform her spiritual and magical work at a grassroots level. She is surrounded
by her familiars; the raven, black cat and snake.
Meanings:
A free spirited woman initiated into the mysteries by her
openness and dedication to self study. This may lead her in many directions;
magic, spirituality, philosophy, psychology - but the eventual outcome is the
same. Intuitive and wise, she is a natural healer, although she has a tendency
to be secretive and guarded. Hidden influences guide your path. Pay attention to
dreams and synchronicities.
Reversed:
A lack of understanding and insight
of this situation. The answers remain hidden and veiled in secrecy.
