IV. The Emperor
Adam, the father of humankind in Western mythology, stands behind a tree, which grows in his image.
He is surrounded by flowers from the garden of Eden. He is connected to his mate
Eve, by the snake that unites these two cards.
Meanings:
One who uses natural leadership abilities to guide others. Father
figure, animus or masculine influence. Stable, realistic and logical. Someone
who upholds tradition, laws, systems and structure. One who is willing to listen
to the counsel of others but confidently follows his own convictions. It may be
time to take on more responsibility.
Reversed:
Dominance and control, or confrontation with an authority figure, such as a father or employer. A feeling
of powerlessness in the face of opposition.
